"By 'eck that were a grand canyon"

Well, we finally made it...

When you get there the canyon is unimaginably big, and it actually takes quite a lot of eye-rubbing and standing open mouthed to believe its existence. Walked around the rim on the first night, which despite the amount of tourists is surprisingly quiet, mainly due to the fact that you have to walk for more than a mile without a 'free shuttle service.' Saw lots of breathtaking views, along with hummingbirds, woodpeckers and an Elk. Next morning got up at the crack of dawn on the first night we actually managed to adjust to US time, and hiked down into the canyon. It was a really nice walk, although the further you go down the more it becomes like an oven, and it's the unrelenting heat more than the terrain which makes hiking hard.

In other news Americans HAVE NO IDEA WHATSOEVER about public transport.
